Mediscout+ identify communities with poverty-related health conditions where infectious disease spread is hardest to control with the aim of improving awareness and emergency preparedness. Savics provides technologies to support health systems to prevent, detect and treat diseases in vulnerable communities. We aim to provide better health services to the poorest communities severely affected by infectious diseases. MediScout+ improves the ability of the health program planners to predict the exact places where poverty-related diseases and outbreaks have the highest probability of occurring in large cities. It builds on the success of Mediscout; an integrated set of tools used to plan, implement and monitor community-based disease control programs. Mediscout+ was trained to automatically analyze satellite images and classify each neighborhood with an outbreak vulnerability score. This layer of analysis will increase the impact of Mediscout predictive tools in urban settings.

Savics SPRL is working in collaboration with Sagacify SPRL, KULeuven with financial support from the European Space Agency to implement this project
